Data protection
Christoph Seite Management Consulting - Privacy Policy
Welcome to my website. I'm very pleased about your interest in me and the services I offer. In addition to maintaining a high standard of quality in my work, protecting your data is also very important to me. This privacy policy applies to my website and other online services I offer.
In connection with my order fulfillment, i.e., the provision of services contractually agreed with you, I process predominantly company-related data, but also – if necessary to provide the service – personal data. Personal data is all data with which you can be personally identified. I always process both categories of data conscientiously and carefully, ensuring the highest possible level of data protection. Personal data is data that relates to identified or identifiable natural persons and can be assigned, i.e., not to companies or other institutions (Art. 4 GDPR).
The following regulations inform you about the type, scope, and purpose of the collection, use, and processing of personal data. When using the internet in general, some technical personal data, such as IP addresses, is automatically collected. Furthermore, when you use certain services on my website or other internet presences, the processing of personal data or your provision of personal data may be necessary. This occurs under the general conditions and regulations explained below.
By using this website, you consent to the collection, storage, use, disclosure, and other processing of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before making any decisions.
You can find specific technical terms related to data protection in the relevant legal texts, for example in the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), Section 3, and in Article 4 of the GDPR, or in other laws.

Encryption, hosting and content delivery networks (CDN), data handling in general
I use state-of-the-art encryption methods from my internet provider. Nevertheless, internet-based data transmission (including emails) may have security gaps, making complete protection against access by third parties impossible. You are free to transmit your data to me, for example, by telephone; however, data transmissions resulting from your current internet usage are excluded from this. If you want to avoid this, please leave the internet immediately and disconnect the data connections on your devices. As a general rule, I will not share your data with third parties without your consent.
My website is hosted by an external service provider who will only process your data to the extent necessary to fulfill their service obligations. I have concluded a contract with 1 & 1 IONOS SE, Eigendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur (a company of the United Internet Group), including a contract for data processing in compliance with data protection regulations. The hosting provider is used to ensure the secure, fast, and efficient provision of my website by a professional provider (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for the purpose of fulfilling the contract with my existing and potential customers.
I implement the security measures on the website with great care and protect your data, using industry-standard procedures to ensure the protection of collected and stored data. To protect your data during transmission in connection with internet and email use, I use state-of-the-art encryption procedures from my internet service provider on my website (and, where technically possible, on all my other websites) via https://. When handling your data, I use the usual, appropriate technical and organizational security measures to prevent unauthorized access by third parties, misuse, accidental or intentional manipulation, data loss, or destruction. Where possible, customary, and appropriate, I also require third parties to adhere to similar security requirements in accordance with these data protection regulations. Although I take reasonable steps to protect data, I exclude liability for any damages that may arise from its use, as it cannot be ruled out that unauthorized persons may have gained access to my website or misused it, and I cannot provide any express or implied guarantee that such access will always be prevented. However, these dangers should be known to every internet user and follower of the daily news.
communication
If you contact me by email, telephone, fax or any other means, your contact, including all personal data resulting from it (name, contact details, etc.), will be stored and processed by me for the purpose of processing your request. On this website you have the option of contacting me by email. In this case, the information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing your contact and your request. I will not pass on any of this data without your consent. This data is processed on the basis of the necessity to process your request with the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures or - without an (impending) contract - on my legitimate interest in the effective processing of enquiries addressed to me. I will store the contact details associated with your contact until you inform me of your wish to delete the data, subject to legal provisions that might conflict with this request.
I do not use a contact form because this ultimately only generates an email, but your data is then sent through a processing process at my internet provider, which I believe is unnecessary because sending an email directly is just as convenient for you.
Very often, my clients or business partners themselves prefer to communicate via WhatsApp.
I actually have a private WhatsApp account. I do not initiate any business communications via WhatsApp myself, but I will of course respond if you initiate the request. However, I expressly point out that European data protection regulations cannot currently be complied with. Therefore, I cannot accept any responsibility in this regard and reserve the right to respond by email or other means. If you are a WhatsApp user and contact me for business purposes, you have logically previously accepted WhatsApp's privacy policy at your own risk.
I have taken technical measures to ensure that if you are NOT a WhatsApp user, your contact and other data will be processed separately by me and without access by the WhatsApp app.
I may use your personal data, such as your name, email address, telephone number, etc., to provide you with unsolicited information about my services that may be of interest to you. I respect your right to privacy in this process; you can, of course, opt out of receiving such unsolicited information in the future. Important notifications of an administrative nature or related to contract fulfillment are excluded.
General information
The processing of your personal data (i.e. any data that allows you to be identified by reasonable means; "personal data“) is necessary to fulfil our contractual obligations to you and to provide you with our services, to protect our legitimate interests and to comply with legal and financial regulatory obligations to which we are subject.
By using this website, you consent to the collection, storage, use, disclosure and other use of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Please read the privacy policy carefully before making any decisions.
Please note that some recipients may not be located in the European Economic Area. If so, we will only transfer your data to countries approved by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection, or where the European Commission permits the transfer and a legitimate interest exists, or where an adequate level of data protection is ensured through a legal agreement.
I (and my service providers, e.g. my host or service provider) collect two types of data and information from users.
- The first category includes non-identifying and non-identifiable user data provided or collected through the use of the website (“Non-Personal Data”).
We do not know the identity of the user from whom non-personal information was collected. The non-personal information that may be collected includes aggregated usage data and technical data sent by your device, including certain software and hardware information (e.g., the browser and operating system used on the device, language preference, access time, etc.). We use this data to improve the functionality of our website. We may also collect data about your activity on the website (e.g., pages viewed, browsing behavior, clicks, actions, etc.).
- The second category includespersonal data, i.e., data that identifies an individual or can be identified through reasonable measures. This data includes: Device Data (personal data is collected from your device; such data includes geolocation data, IP address, unique identifiers (e.g., MAC address and UUID), and other data resulting from your activity on the website); and Registration Data: When you register on our website, you will be asked to provide certain information, such as your first and last name, email address, mailing address, or other information.
- You provide us with such data voluntarily, for example when registering on our website.
- We receive such data when you use our website or access it in connection with one of our services.
- We receive such data from other providers, services and from public registers (for example, from data traffic analysis providers).
- To communicate with you (sending notices regarding our services, providing technical information and, if necessary, processing customer inquiries)
- To market my website and my services
- For statistical and analytical purposes to improve the website.
We obtain your personal data from various sources:
I do not share user data with third parties except as described in this privacy policy or if you request me to do so as part of fulfilling our business relationship and to serve your interests.
We use data for the following purposes:
We may also disclose information when we have a good faith belief that disclosure is necessary, helpful, or appropriate to: (i) comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; (ii) enforce our policies (including our Agreement) and investigate potential violations thereof; (iii) investigate, detect, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities or other wrongdoing, suspected fraud, or security issues; (iv) establish or enforce our legal rights or defend against the claims of others; (v) protect our rights, property, or safety, the safety of our users, your safety, or the safety of third parties; or (vi) cooperate with law enforcement authorities and/or protect intellectual property or other legal rights.
Protecting children's data is particularly important online. This website is not designed or directed at children. Minors may use our services only with the prior consent or authorization of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with personal information without their consent, please contact me using the contact information above.
User rights
You have the following rights, which you can read about in Chapter 3 of the GDPR:
- Right to confirmation: You can request confirmation as to whether and to what extent your personal data is used and processed, as well as access to the personal data stored about you and additional information.
- Right to information and data portability: You will receive information from us about the personal data we process about you. You can request a copy of the personal data you have voluntarily provided to us in a structured, common, and machine-readable format.
- Right to rectification: You can request that we correct the personal data we have stored about you if you provide evidence of errors.
- Right to be forgotten: You can request that your personal data be erased, but please note the limitations set out below.
- Right to restriction of processing: You can restrict our processing of your personal data. However, we will likely have to restrict our service to you, as we will no longer be able to provide the full range of services.
- Right to object: You can object to the processing of your personal data by us.
- Right of revocation: You can revoke your consent to the use of your personal data.
- Right to complain: If you believe that the processing of your personal data by us is unlawful, you have the right to complain to the supervisory authority.
If you wish to exercise any of the rights listed here, or if you have any questions or would like further information, please contact me using the contact details above. Please note, however, that these rights are not unlimited but are subject to our own legitimate interests and regulatory requirements. This means that I may be required to comply with legal obligations to retain records and data, and I am legally obligated to disclose data and provide information upon request from lawful authorities or law enforcement agencies.
Storage of data
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies. Retention periods depend on the type of information collected and the purpose for which it was collected, taking into account both the specific circumstances of the case and the need to delete outdated, unused information as soon as possible. We retain customer personal data records, documents, communications, and other data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. We may correct, complete, or remove any incomplete or inaccurate information at any time and at our sole discretion.
Collection of data by third parties
This Privacy Policy only addresses the use and disclosure of information we collect from you. If you post information on other websites or disclose information to third parties online, different policies may apply. Therefore, always read the terms and conditions and privacy policies carefully before disclosing information. The information provided here does not apply to the business practices of companies that I do not own or control.
Data collection on this website and when using the Internet
Server log files
When you access a homepage or other Internet presence, general information is usually automatically recorded, so-called server log files. This includes data such as
• Type and version of the browser,
• Domain name of your Internet Service Provider,
• the operating system used,
• the IP address (Internet Protocol address),
• Date and time of access,
• the website from which you visit my website or my other internet presence (so-called referrer URL),
• the pages of my homepage that you access
and similar items.
This information is technically necessary for the use of internet services. This anonymous information can be statistically evaluated; it is not possible for me to draw direct conclusions about the people who visit the internet services. This general information serves to ensure the functionality of the internet service and to ensure data protection and data security within my company.
Cookies
We and our partners use cookies to provide the relevant services. This also applies when you visit our website or access our services. A “cookie” is a small data packet that is assigned to your device by this website when you visit a web page. Cookies are useful and can be used for a variety of purposes. These include, for example, making it easier to navigate between different pages, automatically activating certain functions, saving your settings, and optimizing access to our services. It is registered that you have already visited the site. The use of cookies also enables us to show you relevant advertising tailored to your interests and to collect statistical information about your use of our services. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer by your internet browser. They are not viruses, and these files do not cause any damage. On the contrary, cookies serve to make the internet more user-friendly, efficient, and secure, as described.
This website uses the following types of cookies:
a. "Session cookies," which ensure normal system usage. Session cookies are stored only for a limited time during a session and are deleted from your device once you close your browser.
b. "Persistent cookies," which are only read by the website and are not deleted when the browser window is closed, but are stored on your computer for a specific period of time. This type of cookie allows us to identify you on your next visit and, for example, to save your preferences.
c. "Third-party cookies" that are set by other online services that have their own content on the page you visit. These may, for example, be external web analytics companies that record and analyze access to our website.
You can remove cookies via your device's settings. Follow the instructions provided. Please note that disabling cookies may limit certain features of our website. The tool we use is based on Snowplow Analytics technology. The data we collect about website usage includes, for example, how often users visit the website or which areas are accessed. The tool we use does not collect any personal data and is used by our web hosting and service providers solely to improve their services.
Some of my websites also use cookies. Please note the respective cookie consent declarations, which appear automatically when you access these websites.
Google Web Fonts (script libraries)
To ensure that my content is displayed correctly and graphically appealing in every browser, I use script and font libraries such as Google Web Fonts (https://www.google.com/webfontsGoogle Web Fonts are transferred to your browser's cache so they only need to be loaded once. If your browser does not support Google Web Fonts or denies access, the content will be displayed in a standard font. When you access script or font libraries, a connection is automatically established to the library operator. This theoretically allows this operator to collect data. It is currently unknown whether and for what purpose the operators of the respective libraries actually collect data. You can find the privacy policy of the Google library operator here:https://www.google.com/policies/privacy.
Comment function
Some of my online offerings offer the opportunity to comment. I appreciate your interest in my blog or other online offerings, and of course, I welcome your comments on my articles and posts. These articles provide initial, technical information on specific topics within my areas of expertise and do not contain any information that would allow conclusions to be drawn about my clients. Articles can also be shared on social networks (see below).
When you comment on my blog, in addition to the comment itself, the time of the comment and the user name you previously chose are saved, and my service provider saves your IP address. This is necessary for my own security, as I can be prosecuted for illegal content on my website, even if I did not create it myself, but rather a visitor. Here, too, no data is passed on to third parties or compared with other data, except possibly to prosecute the aforementioned illegal content. For blog articles, you have the option of subscribing to the article and subsequent comments. If you choose to do so, you will receive a confirmation email verifying that you are actually the owner of the specified email address. You can unsubscribe at any time, as stated in the confirmation email. Of course, the data obtained through the subscription will not be passed on to anyone else.
Some of my websites, e.g. my blog, use security queries on input forms to reduce spam and maintain the quality and security of the website. For this purpose, the reCaptcha service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA (hereinafter "Google") is used. reCaptcha checks whether the input is of human origin or has been misused by automated machine processing. To do this, to the best of my knowledge and based on the current state of the art, the aforementioned referrer URL, IP address, operating system, browser, etc., as well as the user's input behavior and mouse movements in the reCaptcha checkbox, are transmitted to Google. As is well known, Google uses all possible data obtained for its own purposes. The data obtained via reCaptcha will only be merged with other Google data if you are logged in with your own Google account. If you want to prevent this, you must first log out of Google and then visit my websites, such as my blog. The use of reCaptcha and the information obtained through it is subject to Google's privacy policy and terms of use: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/.
Ssocial networks
I maintain internet presences within social networks and online platforms based on my legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR to communicate with clients or potential customers, interested parties and users active there and to be able to inform them about myself and my range of services and about general technical and content-related aspects or current developments.
A social network is an online social community where registered users create a profile and can communicate and interact with each other in a virtual space. A social network can serve as a platform for exchanging opinions and experiences, or it can enable the online community to provide personal, person-related, or company-related information. Some providers also process their data outside the EU; as a user, you have accepted this through the local terms of use. Furthermore, most providers are certified under the so-called Privacy Shield Agreement, which provided a corresponding level of compliance with data protection regulations in line with European standards. The highest court ruled differently, and the Privacy Shield Agreement was overturned. The EU is apparently negotiating a successor agreement.
The operators of social networks and online platforms are known to use the data generated during your use and processed by the operators in a variety of ways for various commercial purposes, such as advertising, market research or the analysis of user behavior and resulting, presumed interests. However, this is only possible because you, as a user of social networks and platforms, have given the operators your consent in accordance with the respective data protection regulations. You can control this yourself in certain ways by granting or restricting rights and configuring certain privacy or security settings. For the individual social networks and platforms you will find below 1) the specific data protection regulations, 2) opt-out options and, if applicable, 3) the Privacy Shield certifications (all as of November 4, 2018).
As described above, the Privacy Shield agreements were overturned by the courts. My website does not provide any cross-connections between the individual offerings, except for links from other offerings to this website. Therefore, if you use one of my offerings on any platform, you are registered there, and I can assume that you accept the data protection standards of the platforms on which you have registered.
The transfer of data to non-European countries is based on my legitimate interest in the greatest possible visibility in social networks and on the World Wide Web in general. Following the current cancellation of the Privacy Shield regulations and prior to the adoption of a replacement regulation, which is beyond my control, this transfer is supported by the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses.
For requests for information and to assert your rights as a user, it is best to contact the respective operators of the social networks and platforms directly. I do not have access to the data processed by the respective operators. Should you still need assistance, you can still contact me, although my chances of success with these providers will be the same as yours.
Integration of third-party content
It may happen that I share third-party content on my website that is related to my areas of activity, such as specialist articles, content on social networks, YouTube videos, RSS feeds from other blogs, text or graphics from other websites. This content can be useful for my customers or partners and is then of a specialist quality. The content has been released for sharing by the third parties. If you access this shared third-party content, the third party will at least retrieve your IP address so that the content can be displayed. It is possible that other data will also be retrieved, as is the case when visiting websites and using the internet in general. Information about how the third party handles data can be found in their privacy policy. You can avoid the transfer of data to the third party by simply not accessing shared content.
Use of internet analysis tools
This website uses internet analysis tools from 1&1 Inonos SE, Eigendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur (hereinafter '1&1'). These internet analysis tools evaluate automatically generated web server log files using statistical methods. Data is collected as described above. 1&1 will use this information to evaluate website usage, to provide general reports on this to website operators, and to provide other services related to website or internet usage. By using this website and the internet, you consent to the data processing described above. Where necessary, you will automatically be asked for your permission to use these analysis technologies. You can change/revoke this permission at any time, even later, by clicking on the "Settings" button.
Miscellaneous
In order to comply with any new legal changes to data protection or to implement changes to my website, I reserve the right to amend this privacy policy. To review any changes to this privacy policy, please visit my privacy policy page first. This current version of the privacy policy is dated June 30, 2021. Your continued use of the platform following the announcement of such changes on our website constitutes your consent to such changes to the privacy policy and is deemed your agreement to be bound by the amended provisions.
As a responsible management consultant and entrepreneur, I refrain from automated decision-making or profiling.
I hereby expressly prohibit the use of my contact data published in accordance with the imprint obligation by third parties to send unsolicited advertising and information materials. I reserve the right to take legal action in the event of a violation.
